Job summary

Stonecliff Animal Clinic of New Hampshire, a multi-doctor general practice, is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician with a focus on surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring. The role involves restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, and client communication, with opportunities for ongoing professional development in a supportive, AAHA-accredited hospital.

Qualifications

  • Certified veterinary technician with 2+ years of experience required.
  • Licensed individuals with anesthesia/analgesia or surgical specialty preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress, safe manner.
  • Ability to interpret medical records and discuss care with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Restrain animals, triage patients, collect and analyze lab samples.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging and provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
  • Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
  • Prepare and assist in surgical procedures; monitor anesthesia.
  • Complete surgical notes and charts for procedures performed.

Stonecliff Animal Clinic of New Hampshire is a multi-doctor, full-service general practice providing the highest quality veterinary medicine since 1990. We are the sister hospital to Dr. Dan Kelly’s Stonecliff Veterinary Surgical Center. Our brand-new facility offers top notch services including preventative care, wellness care, routine and complex surgery, ultrasound, dental, behavioral case management, and so much more! This position isheavilyfocused on assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring. Candidatesmustbe proficient in both in order to be considered.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, anesthetic management, and completing surgical notes and charts for procedures assisted with.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
  • Acertified veterinary technician, 2+year experiencerequired
    • Licensed individuals with a specialty in anesthesia and analgesia or a specialty in surgery would be preferred, but neither is required
  • Experienced and proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • Knowledge in pre-operative care, preparation for surgical procedures, post-operative care, and discussing continued care with clients
  • Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Weekend availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
Additional Information

Pay Range: $20 - $28/hr. depending on level of experience.
