Job summary

Alliance Animal Health, at Lowell Road Veterinary Center in Hudson, NH, seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician with active license to join our multi‑doctor practice. You will perform animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, medication administration and assist in surgery while supporting urgent care needs.

The role requires excellent client communication, reliable scheduling, and a commitment to animal welfare in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Certified Veterinary Technician with active license required.
  • 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples; diagnostic imaging.
  • Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
  • Administration of medications and anesthetic management.
  • Surgical preparation and assistance; anesthesia monitoring.
  • Support for Urgent Care shifts when needed.

Job description

Lowell Road Veterinary Center is a state of the art, multi‑doctor veterinary hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in Hudson, New Hampshire. We understand all the different ways your pet communicates love and trust. Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in‑house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, rehabilitation services, and acupuncture.

We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, digital radiography, dental x‑ray, and a complete in‑house laboratory. We also have our sister hospital 25 minutes down the road in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.

***Applicants should understand that shifts will be expected to be covered both at this location as well as at our sister hospital located at 246 State Rte 101, Bedford, NH 03110***

Our hours of operation are:
  • Monday - Friday: 7AM - 6PM
  • Saturday: 7AM - 4PM
  • Sunday: 9AM - 3PM

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

This position will also be required to provide support for Urgent Care shifts when needed.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We’re looking for:
  • A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Availability to work some weekends
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low‑stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with exposure to animal‑related hazards

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

Pay Range:

$20-28/hr depending on level of experience
