Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health, part of the NVA Group, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team at VERC in Honolulu, HI. You will work with board-certified surgeons providing advanced specialty surgical care and anesthesia for orthopedic and soft tissue cases.

The role is ideal for a Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant with strong anesthesia and surgical skills, with credentialing preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on veterinary clinical experience with strong interest in Surgery and anesthesia.
• Experience with anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Confidence with anesthetic calculations, CRIs, fluid therapy, and medication administration.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and operating room protocols.
• Strong patient monitoring and nursing skills.
• Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency, Critical Care, or Specialty experience preferred.
• Credentialing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, surgical suites, equipment, and instruments for specialty surgical procedures.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia.
• Assist with orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic procedures.
• Provide hands‑on surgical nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and CRIs as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist surgeons during procedures.
• Monitor patients closely and respond to changes during anesthesia and recovery.
• Maintain surgical equipment, instruments, anesthesia records, and medical documentation.
