Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Surgery Veterinary Technician in Honolulu to support board-certified surgeons on complex orthopedic and soft tissue cases. Join a specialty hospital that emphasizes anesthesia, perioperative nursing, and high standards of patient care.

The role targets experienced technicians, with credentialing preferred but not required, and offers a four-day workweek and comprehensive benefits at VER C Hawaii’s Surgery team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on veterinary clinical experience with a strong interest or background in Surgery and anesthesia.
• Experience with anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Confidence with anesthetic calculations, CRIs, fluid therapy, and medication administration.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and operating room protocols.
• Strong patient monitoring and nursing skills.
• Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency, Critical Care, or Specialty veterinary experience preferred.
• RVT, CVT, LVT, or VTS credentialing preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, surgical suites, equipment, and instruments for specialty surgical procedures.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia.
• Assist with orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic procedures.
• Provide hands‑on surgical nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and CRIs as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist surgeons during procedures.
• Monitor patients closely and respond to changes during anesthesia and recovery.
• Maintain surgical equipment, instruments, anesthesia records, and medical documentation.
