Job summary

EvergreenHealth is a major healthcare system serving the north King and south Snohomish counties. We are seeking an experienced Surgery Tech to join our Family Maternity Center OR team, focusing on procedural patient care and instrument handling.

The role requires WA Surgical Technologist registration, HS diploma, and current BLS. Prior OR tech experience is desired. Comprehensive benefits and a union environment are noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be registered as a Surgical Technologist within the State of Washington.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique at all times.
• Performs counts as defined in OR policies.
• Maintains sterile instrument tables and Mayo stand.
• Passes instruments to surgeon and assistants as needed.
• Handles medications on sterile field under RN supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $32.36 - $54.01 per hour

We are searching for an experienced Surgery Tech (Scrub Tech) to join our Family MaternityCenter OR team!The Surgery Tech works as a member of the patient care team focusing on the procedural care needs.

Primary Duties:

1. Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
2. Demonstrates close attention to detail regarding aseptic technique at all times.
3. Participates in patient safety activities including presurgical pause
4. Performs all counts as defined in the OR policies and procedures measured by documentation on the OR record.
5. Maintains an orderly and sterile instrument table and/or Mayo stand.
6. Consistently passes necessary instruments to surgeon and surgical assistant(s).
7. Remains alert and demonstrate an ability to handle unexpected situations with calm efficiency.
8. Prepares and handles medications on the sterile field under the direct observation of a registered nurse.
9. Handles records, labels, and specimens according to established policy and procedure.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must be registered as a Surgical Technologist within the State of Washington.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

DESIRED for the position:

• 2+ years of Surgical Tech experience
