Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the surgical team and assist in delivering patient care during surgery. The position offers an hourly wage range and a potential bonus for experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique at all times.
• Performs counts as defined in OR policies and procedures.
• Maintains sterile instrument tables and Mayo stands.
• Identifies sterility of instruments and indicator parameters.
• Anticipates surgical routine and acts per surgeon’s instructions.
• Handles medications on the sterile field under RN supervision.
• Participates in patient safety activities including pre-surgical pause.

Job description

Wage Range: $34.56 - $57.67 per hour

Up to $10,000 Bonus for those new to EvergreenHealth with a minimum of 2 years of current Surgery Tech experience.

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary

Works with the surgical team to deliver patient care during surgery.

Primary Duties:

1. Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
2. Demonstrates close attention to detail regarding aseptic technique at all times.
3. Performs all counts as defined in the OR policies and procedures measured by documentation on the OR record.
4. Maintains an orderly and sterile instrument table and/or Mayo stand per standardize set ups.
5. Identifies sterility of instruments knows all indicator parameters.
6. Anticipates the surgical routine and acts proactively according to surgeon’s instructions
7. Remains and demonstrate an ability to handle unexpected situations with calm efficiency.
8. Asks appropriate questions to enhance the care of the patient
9. Handles medications on the sterile field under the direct observation of a registered nurse.
10. Handles records, labels, and specimens according to established policy and procedure.
11. Participates in patient safety activities including pre-surgical pause.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience

REQUIRED for the position:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must be registered as a Surgical Technologist within the State of Washington.
• Must have and maintain NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Certification.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire

DESIRED for the position:

• 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
