Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Surgical Technician for our Operating Room. The successful candidate will assist the surgeon to complete operations safely and efficiently, providing patient care from neonates to geriatrics as needed.

This role requires completion of an OR or Surgery Tech certification and at least one year of direct OR experience; certification in Surgical Technology is preferred and training must be approved.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved training course in Surgical Technology.
• Must have 1 year experience in an Operating Room setting.
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon to the completion of each operation safely and efficiently.
• Provide nursing care to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric as needed in the OR.
• Support endoscopy and dental procedures as required in the operating room.

The Surgical Technician is to assist the surgeon to the completion of each operation safely and efficiently. The individual must possess skills and competencies necessary to provide nursing care to patients ranging in age from neonate to geriatric.

This position will serve in the role as a surgical technician in the Operating Room, mainly assisting with surgical procedures, endoscopy procedures, dental procedures and assisting where needed in the capacity of a surgical technician.

To be considered, candidates must have completed their OR or Surgery Tech certification and have at least one full year of direct position related experience in an Operating Room.
