Job description

Position Summary

In support of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Vision; “Leading the creation and advancement of health equity,” the Department of Surgery is seeking Physicians to join their team. The incumbent in this position will engage in teaching, research, and clinical service in the field of Surgery, participate in the teaching program of the department, engage in patient care activities consistent with the department’s needs, faculty member’s interests, assume administrative duties such as serving on institutional committees and assisting with the Surgery Residency Program and/or Clerkship Program.

Surgery Specialty Areas: General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Emergency General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Breast Surgery, Urology.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD degree
  • Georgia Medical License
  • Board Certification
  • Preferred experience in medical student and/or resident teaching
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
Description of Job Duty
  • Serve on department, institutional, and community-based committees
  • May serve as Course Director for undergraduate medical education courses
  • May provide resident and medical student supervision
  • May undertake clinical responsibilities at Morehouse Healthcare, Grady Health Systems, or other affiliated sites as assigned
  • Assist with resident recruitment, including interviewing candidates
