Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth is seeking a Surgery Scheduling Specialist to coordinate patient appointments and pre-surgery coordination for procedures at the Texas Health Neuro Spine Specialists clinic. You will register patients, verify coverage and prepare necessary tests prior to surgery as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 2 years healthcare experience and a strong background in scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 2 years related experience in healthcare environment preferred.
• Previous Surgery Scheduling experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, register and schedule appointments for patients according to availability.
• Conduct patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care.
• Ensure all required tests needed prior to surgery are done.
• Coordinate and ensure necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medications, etc. is arranged prior to scheduled procedure.
• Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments.
• Communicate and answer patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure.
