HCA Florida Broward Primary Care in Florida is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, ensuring documentation and authorizations are obtained before surgery.

You will work with physicians, facility staff, and patients to streamline scheduling, verify credentialing, and arrange anesthesia coverage. This full-time day shift offers a collaborative environment.

Qualifications include a high school degree and medical office experience; BLS may be required; no travel.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT/ICD-10 codes and clinical info for treatment from staff; seek coder help as needed.
• Determine OR time and coordinate with facility to schedule; streamline daily schedule and arrange anesthesia as needed.
• Verify physician is credentialed at the Center or Facility before scheduling.
• Coordinate provider clinic and facility schedules, including time-out, travel, meetings and CME.
• Support and adhere to HCA Code of Conduct, Ethics and HIPAA requirements.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring all required documentation, authorizations, equipment, and clinical information are obtained and confirmed prior to surgery. This position works closely with physicians, facility staff, and patients to ensure a seamless surgical scheduling process

What you will do in this role:

• Obtains CPT and ICD-10 Diagnosis codes and other clinical information as required for treatment of the patient from practice staff; seeks assistance from practice and facility coders as determined through practice and family processes

• Determines O.R. time needed for the procedure and works with Facility to ensure procedure is scheduled; daily schedule is streamlined and arranges necessary anesthesia coverage, as determined through facility processed. Ensures all requirements for the procedure have been obtained and confirmed with the facility or other parties to include medical/imaging records and needed equipment/instruments.

• Verifies/confirms physician is credentialed at the Center of Facility before scheduling the patient.

• Ensures efficient coordination of provider clinic and facility schedule which could include awareness of provider schedule and coordination of provider time-out, travel, meetings, conferences, and continuing medical education.

• Supports and adheres to HCA Code of Conduct, related Ethics and Compliance policies, and HIPAA requirements
