Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a contingent, day-shift Registered Nurse in the Pre‑Post Op area to prep patients for surgery and discharge families. The role emphasizes safety, patient advocacy, and developmentally appropriate care, with potential RN First Assistant duties after completing an approved program.
The position requires an Ohio RN license, CPR certification, and an Associate degree (BSN preferred with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years).
Schedule: Contingent, Day Shift, Minimum 16 hrs./month. No nights, weekends or holidays. This position is in the Pre‑Post Op area getting patients prepped and ready for surgery and then teaching and discharging the family home.
Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their surgical encounter, maintaining quality and safety as a priority. Delegates, directs, oversees and provides developmentally appropriate patient care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.
BSN, preferred. Associate degree, required with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
