Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks an RN to assist patients through their episode of care with a focus on quality and safety. The role requires an Ohio RN license and current CPR certification, with a BSN or ADN plus commitment to obtain BSN within five years.

The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), 40 hours weekly, with pediatric or perioperative experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Willing to obtain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
  • Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and reporting updates back to staff.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
