Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Omaha, NE, seeks a Circulating Registered Nurse for our CVOR to ensure safe, efficient care during complex cardiovascular procedures. You will prepare the OR, assist with patient setup and positioning, monitor vitals, maintain sterile technique, and document care with the surgical team.

The role emphasizes teamwork with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, plus ongoing quality improvement and education to advance CVOR skills.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ACLS certification to be achieved within 5 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room with necessary equipment.
• Assist with patient preparation and positioning and maintain safety.
• Monitor vital signs throughout procedures and report changes.
• Maintain sterile field and follow infection control protocols.
• Anticipate team needs and provide proactive assistance.
• Document patient information and procedures accurately.
• Engage in quality improvement and continuing education.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses.
• Demonstrate proficiency with CVOR equipment and tech.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Circulating Registered Nurse in our CVOR, you will be a vital member of the surgical team, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient care during complex cardiovascular procedures. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available and functioning correctly.
• Assisting the surgical team with patient preparation and positioning, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
• Meticulously monitoring the patient's vital signs throughout the procedure, promptly reporting any changes to the surgical team.
• Maintaining a sterile field and adhering to strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of complications.
• Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing proactive assistance to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Accurately and thoroughly documenting all relevant patient information, procedures, and observations.
• Actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Collaborating effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nurses.
• Demonstrating proficiency in the use of specialized CVOR equipment and technologies.

We are offering a $18,000 Sign-on Bonus and up to $10,000 in Education Assistance.

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• ACLS Certification required within 5 months
