Job summary

Vitruvian Health in Dalton, GA is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Surgery department. The OR nurse will provide direct patient care in intra-operative settings, manage patient needs, and direct ancillary staff through rapid case turnover.

Candidates should have an Associate Degree in Nursing and Georgia RN licensure (or multi-state) with BLS CPR. Prior surgical experience is preferred; acute care experience or peri-operative training is a plus.

Is responsible for managing the care of assigned patients and coping with rapid case turnover and directing activities of ancillary staff. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients of all age ranges.**JOB QUALIFICATIONS****Education:** Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or will obtain prior to working as a RN**Licensure:** Current Georgia RN or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria professional licensure or will obtain prior to beginning work as a RN. BLS CPR required**Experience:** Previous surgical experience preferred. Minimum of one year nursing experience in acute care setting preferred or will be a graduate of a peri-operative training program.**Skills:** Finger and hand dexterity. Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent information in terms of the patient’s needs. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for the procedure being performed and the age group of the patient served.## PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONSProlonged walking and standing required, with the ability to lift and move patients. Ability to tolerate rapid patient turnover and high census. Works in typical surgery setting with patients experiencing a wide range of surgical procedures and anesthetics. Required to take call, with some late day assignments requested. Ability to effectively cope with acute emergency situations.
