Position: Surgery Registered Veterinary Technician

Our Surgery team operates in a fast-paced environment, ideal for technicians seeking training across various facets of the department and interaction with other hospital teams. The role requires strong communication skills to liaise between surgeons and clients, as well as to deliver post-operative care instructions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, maintain medical records, handle invoicing, and manage patient discharges.
  2. Fill medications, enter charges, and ensure accurate medical records and appointment scheduling.
  3. Create patient releases, and communicate treatment plans and financial obligations with clients.
  4. Prepare patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing, positioning, assisting with intubation, and radiographs.
  5. Perform blood draws and submit bloodwork.
  6. Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  7. Maintain cleanliness of operating rooms, instruments, and packs.
Compensation:

This position offers an initial hourly range of $30.25 to $44.00, depending on experience and skillset.

Qualifications:
  • State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
  • Previous veterinary experience required; surgical experience preferred.
  • Proficient in calculations related to drugs, infusions, and unit conversions.
  • Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours as needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
