Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team in an on-site role. You will manage appointments, medical records, and client communications while supporting surgical prep and post-operative care.

Ideal candidates hold a State Registered Veterinary Technician license with prior veterinary experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential, with a schedule including evenings and rotating Saturdays on call.

Qualifications

• State-registered veterinary technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary experience is required; surgery experience is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, medical records, invoicing, and patient discharges.
• Fill medications, enter charges and maintain accurate medical records, schedule appointments.
• Create patient releases, navigate client conversations about treatment plans and financial obligations.
• Prep patients for surgery, assist with shaving, scrubbing and positioning, assist with intubation and radiographs.
• Proficiently perform blood draws and submit blood work.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Open, turn over and clean operating rooms, and clean instruments and wrap packs.

Proposed Schedule

9a-7p 4 rotating days/week, including some Saturdays, plus on call rotation for weekends and weekdays

This role has a hiring range of $18.75-35.00/hr based on experience.

Our Surgery team is a fast-paced environment, perfect fortechnicians that are looking for training in multiplefacetsof the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requiresstrong communicationskillstoliaison between surgeons and clients and deliverpost-operative careinstructions.

What you’ll do:
