Job description

This north Florida health system is seeking an experienced, board-certified neurosurgeon to join their well-respected and busy American College of Surgeons verified Level I Trauma Center. The neurosurgeon will work in the Department of Trauma to provide trauma neurosurgical care. APP support is available, along with a full-service line dedicated to trauma patients in the ICU and on the floor. Clinical research is optional but available. There is also an opportunity to participate as affiliate faculty with the University of Central Florida to teach residents and medical students, which is optional.

Qualified Candidates:

• Board certified or eligible in neurosurgery
• Spine fellowship trained with experience in trauma neurosurgery; must be able to perform complex spine surgery
• The provider will mainly focus on trauma neurosurgery, including:
  • Hospital-based trauma care
  • Managing neuro trauma alerts
  • Trauma consults
  • Follow-up clinic management
  • Participating in peer review, program improvement, trauma center survey verification/designation, and quality rounds
• Share the month with another dedicated trauma neurosurgeon supported by APPs
• The hospital's trauma program is the area’s only ACS-verified Level I trauma center serving five counties and over 1 million residents. It is also a teaching hospital for UCF and hosts the UCF residency consortium.
