Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT seeks a Veterinary Technician – Specialty Surgical Lead to lead our Surgery Department in a fast-paced specialty hospital. This role focuses on advanced anesthesia protocols, pain management, and compassionate leadership.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate daily surgical workflow, and work with board-certified specialists to maintain top patient care and safety. Eligible candidates bring leadership and veterinary anesthesia experience.

Qualifications

• Veterinary hospital leadership experience required.
• Strong background in specialty anesthesia and multimodal analgesia.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and manage a fast-paced surgical service.
• Background in leading teams and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily surgical workflow and peri-anesthetic care for complex patients.
• Mentor and develop technicians and assistants; reinforce SOPs.
• Coordinate case flow and ensure operational readiness of the Surgery service.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to anticipate and troubleshoot complications.
