Coulee-Medical-Center in Washington state is seeking a Surgery Lead RN to join our Surgical Services team. This role combines direct patient care with day-to-day operational leadership, guiding nursing staff across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.

You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the care team to promote safe, efficient patient care while balancing scheduling needs and staff development.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS & NRP certifications required or obtained within 12 months.
• 2–3 years in a nursing leadership or charge role.
• 2–3 years of hospital-based clinical experience.
• Experience in precepting/training staff; adult education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

CMC is seeking a Surgery Lead RN to join our Surgical Services team! The Surgery Lead RN provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care; while addressing the psychosocial, physical, and clinical needs of patients within the surgical environment and functions across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative settings. This role collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, efficient, and effective patient care. In addition to the responsibilities of a Surgery RN, the Lead RN provides day-to-day operational leadership for Surgical Services, coordinates staffing and workflow, supports quality and regulatory initiatives, and serves as a clinical resource for staff, providers, and leadership.The Surgery Lead RN is expected to demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. This position serves as a role model for professional nursing practice while balancing direct patient care responsibilities with the operational needs of the department.
