Job description

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital is seeking a full-time specialist in Complex Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) in the Division of Academic Obstetrics/Gynecology. The department's minimally invasive surgical team comprises 4 faculty members, supported by Advanced Practice Providers, with a robust surgical practice performing 300-400 surgeries annually. We provide evidence-based in-office and surgical care to our local community and beyond. The department hosts an AAGL-accredited fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Candidates are expected to mentor and teach residents and fellows. We seek an academic surgical gynecologist with strong research interests and clinical expertise in areas such as:

• Endometriosis
• Uterine Fibroids
• Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
• Pelvic Pain
• Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

Responsibilities

• Perform independently complex MIGS procedures, including advanced treatments for endometriosis and fibroids
• Conduct minimally invasive gynecological surgeries, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures
• Assess patients pre- and post-operatively to determine optimal surgical approaches
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care
• Engage in research activities
• Educate medical students, residents, and fellows
• Foster an inclusive environment for coworkers and patients

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Completed residency in surgery or a related specialty
• Valid medical license and DEA registration
• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery
• Proven experience in minimally invasive gynecological surgeries
• Excellent communication skills
