Join Our Team as a General Surgeon

Become part of a physician-led, multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, adopting a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. This full-spectrum general surgery practice offers rewarding opportunities in a community setting, including endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, with a balanced rural-paced lifestyle. The practice is located in a clinic adjacent to the hospital. SAMC-Ontario is a Level IV Trauma Center with 50 beds, four operating suites, endoscopy, advanced laparoscopic equipment, and comprehensive imaging capabilities.

The position includes outreach responsibilities one day a week at Saint Alphonsus Baker City, a critical access hospital 76 miles northwest of Ontario. Baker City features two operating rooms with 24/7 CRNA support for anesthesia and a full-service endoscopy suite.

Support and Resources

• 24/7 CRNA support for anesthesia
• Regional network of surgical subspecialties including surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, upper GI surgery, orthopedics, ENT, and gynecology
• Local primary care and specialty clinics, medical oncology
• Hospital-based imaging services: 24/7 radiology, in-house general radiology and CT, after-hours ultrasound and nuclear medicine, MRI, Breast Care Center, X-ray (CR and DR)
• Emergency department support

Schedule and Call

Traditional workweek, Monday through Friday, with at least 32 hours of patient contact time including clinic, procedures, and consults. One day per week involves travel to Baker City for clinic and surgery/endoscopy. Call responsibilities include 7 days per month, including one weekend at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center-Ontario.
