Job Summary: A plastic surgeon deals with the repair, reconstruction, or replacement of physical defects involving the skin, musculoskeletal system, craniomaxillofacial structures, hands, extremities, breasts, trunk, and external genitalia. They utilize aesthetic surgical principles to improve both normal and abnormal structures. A plastic surgeon possesses expertise in grafts, flaps, free-tissue transfer, and replantation, and must be competent in managing complex wounds, implantable materials, and tumor surgery.

Job Duties:

Geisinger is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified plastic surgeon to join our Plastic Surgery Department. The candidate should be hardworking, energetic, and team-oriented. They will join an established team working with advanced practitioners and specialists, with a passion for education, participating in teaching, research, and program development.

Job Details

• Provide a broad range of services including general plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures (breast augmentation, lift, abdominoplasty, body contouring, face lift, liposuction, eyelid lift, brow lift), microsurgical and implant-based breast reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, and cancer/trauma reconstruction.
• Participate actively in the education of integrated plastic surgery residents.
• Benefit from an established referral base from Geisinger and outside/private practice physicians and surgeons.
• Utilize fully integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) - EPIC.
• Microsurgery experience or fellowship training is a plus due to increasing volume.

Locations/Openings: Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, and Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA.

Education: MD or DO (Required)

Experience & Licenses: Licensed Medical Doctor in Pennsylvania.
