Job Opportunity: Thoracic Surgeon

This position is at an established facility with a Level II trauma designation, dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical care in a supportive, team-based environment. The organization emphasizes patient-centered care and its thoracic surgery program is well-supported by advanced technology, including a DaVinci Xi robot, and a multidisciplinary tumor board.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Develop and enhance the thoracic surgery program due to growing demand.
2. Perform both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.
3. Participate in a mix of surgical cases and outpatient visits.
4. Engage in weekend call rotations as needed (1:4 ratio).
5. Provide consultative hospital services.
6. Work collaboratively with pulmonary/critical care colleagues and an established referral base.
7. Document through the EPIC electronic medical record system.
8. Lead and mentor within the thoracic surgery group, potentially in a Medical Director role.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery (within 2 years of eligibility).
• Fellowship-trained in Thoracic Surgery.
• Clean malpractice and license history.
• Ability to obtain an Ohio medical license.
• ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• DEA certification (or ability to obtain).

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active Ohio medical license or a commitment to obtain one.
• ACLS certification required or willing to obtain.
• DEA needed or willing to apply for one.
