Job summary

lien Animal Clinic in West Seattle seeks a skilled Veterinary Technician to join a four-veterinarian practice focused on anesthesia, dentistry, and inpatient care. The successful candidate will support doctors, monitor patients, and maintain meticulous medical records within a collaborative, supportive environment.

The role offers a stable full-time schedule (34–36 hours per week) Tue-Fri, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM with a daily 12:30–1:30 lunch break, and no weekends or overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Veterinary Technician license.
• At least 2 years of LVT experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, anesthesia monitoring, dental radiography, and lab work.
• Able to lift 40 lbs unassisted.
• Strong desire to practice empathetic, gold standard medicine benefiting patients.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients during outpatient appointments.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Obtain patient histories, document findings, and maintain complete medical records.
• Perform anesthesia and sedation induction and monitoring, dentistry including radiographs and charting, and nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Use safe restraining techniques and maintain clean, sterile treatment areas and labs.
• Prepare patients, medications and equipment for examinations, surgery, dentistry and sedated procedures.
• Collect and prepare patient lab samples for in-house and reference lab testing.
• Mentor and support veterinary assistants and fellow technicians.
