Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists is actively seeking a Surgery Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team in Little Rock, AR. You will assist in surgeries, provide patient care, and help manage ICU and hospital operations to ensure high-quality outcomes for patients and clients.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Veterinary Technician with strong anesthesia and surgical experience, willing to work a Monday–Thursday schedule with some evenings and weekends,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vitals and history from clients at presentation.
• Restrain canines and felines safely and humanely for exam, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Venipuncture of Cephalic, Saphenous, and Jugular veins.
• Perform hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, fecal tests, coagulation panels; process samples for reference labs.
• Radiology techniques and positioning.
• Place and maintain IV catheters, including central and arterial lines.
• Administer medications (oral, injectable, CRI) and manage drug log.
• Prepare and maintain medical records in hospital software; discharge instructions.
• Assist in surgical procedures and care for pre/post-operative patients in ICU.
• Maintain OR/ICU cleanliness and assist Emergency Department as needed.
