Position Overview:

This role supports the overall operation of the surgery department, including procedure room preparation, patient transportation, and maintaining cleanliness of the facilities. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory, ensuring facilities are well-stocked, and ordering supplies as needed. The role also involves maintaining and ensuring the availability of equipment used in procedures in the Operating Room daily. Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is essential to ensure privacy and safety, thereby delivering optimal patient care. The position may also require performing specific procedures and orienting other staff to the department.

Job Description

Education:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Certification & Licensure:

• BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

Typical Experience:

• One year of recent relevant experience

Skills and Knowledge:

• General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment.
• Ability to interpret data and instructions in various formats.
• Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for explaining sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, including prioritization and working within standardized procedures to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve standard issues using established solutions.
