Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Perioperative Support Technician to assist in the operating room and patient transport in Harlingen, TX. The role involves direct and indirect patient care, room turnover, and restocking to maintain a clean and safe perioperative environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and AHA BLS certification. Preferred candidates have up to 6 months of related experience and must follow PPE and safety policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care in the Perioperative setting under supervision.
• Performs terminal cleaning of the operating room and prepares rooms for new patients.
• Cleans and remakes patient stretchers and beds; restocks and cleans assigned areas.
• Participates in OR suite turnovers between cases.
• Delivers specimens, labs, and blood to and from OR.
• Transports patients as directed by a nurse.
• Follows Standard Precautions using PPE as required by policy.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Perform terminal cleaning of the operating room and prepares rooms for new patients.
• Cleans and re-makes patient stretchers and beds and responsible for assigned areas for restocking and cleanliness.
• Participates in OR suite turnovers between cases.
• Delivers specimens, labs, blood to and from OR.
• Transport patients as directed by a nurse.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required per policy.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required: High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

Preferred: 6 months of related experience

Certifications:

Required: AHA BLS.
