Job summary

System One in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking a Sr. Production Control Specialist for a D shift (Fri–Sun, 5pm–5am) on a 6-month to 1-year onsite contract to tackle a large backlog and support schedule execution.

You will own day-to-day backlog cleanup, drive expediting on hot jobs, and maintain MRP data integrity while coordinating with PC leads and FTEs to minimize schedule slips. Prior ERP/MRP experience with SAP or Costpoint is highly valued.

Qualifications

Experience with schedule management, expediting, or backlog/data clean-up in a manufacturing or production environment.
Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Costpoint, or similar).
Ability to work independently on a defined backlog in a high-tempo environment.

Responsibilities

Drive down the work-order backlog: dispositioning idle/no-need-date orders, resolving stalled part numbers, and closing out orders.
Execute targeted expedite efforts on hot jobs—identifying material and kit needs, and blockers across service centers to prevent schedule slip.
Provide off-nominal shift coverage as needed, handling routine escalations and keeping WIP moving when FTE coverage is thin.
Maintain MRP/ERP data integrity.
Communicate daily backlog burn-down status and shift hand-offs to PC leads.
