Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking an experienced First Assist to join our surgical team in Florida. You will support the surgical team during procedures, ensure instruments are prepared, and adhere to safety protocols for patient care.

The role requires an active CST certification and prior First Assist experience in an OR setting, with strong teamwork and communication skills. Assignment lasts 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, with a day shift.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced First Assist to join our surgical team. As a First Assist, you will play a critical role in ensuring successful surgical procedures by providing assistance to the surgical team. This position requires expertise in collaboration and support during the operation, making sure that all protocols and procedures are adhered to for patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing direct support and assistance
• Ensure all necessary surgical equipment and instruments are ready and available
• Follow surgical protocols to maintain patient health and safety
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care as needed

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current certification as a CST
• Prior experience as a First Assist in an operating room setting
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
