Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a Weekend On-site Surgical Technologist to support the Main Operating Room. Hours are 7am-7pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with one additional weekday shift. Minimal call required: about 4 hours every two weeks.

Previous surgical technologist experience or completion of a Surgical Technologist program is required, with CPR certification and possible certification preferred. Benefits include a comprehensive package; sign-on bonus of $20,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program OR equivalent surgical technologist experience.
• Anatomy and Physiology classes preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Role Details

Responsibilities

Previous surgical technologist experience and/or completion of a Surgical Technologist program is REQUIRED

The Main Operationg Room (Level 1 Trauma Center) Surgical Technologist performs “scrub” technologist duties for scheduled surgeries in the Main Operating Room, and assists with the draping and utilization of instruments for a particular surgery and age of the patient serviced.

Demonstrates knowledge in the basic principles of sterile technique and sterilization procedures.

Clinical ladder advancement opportunities available.

Education

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program and/or have previous Surgical Technologist experience REQUIRED.
• Completion of Anatomy and Physiology classes preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Attends JCAHO, OSHA, and hospital/nurse manager-specified mandatory in-services.
• Obtains four contact hours in area of interest.

Licensure/Certification/Registry

• Maintains current CPR certification
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred

Experience

• Previous experience in multiple surgical specialties is preferred.

Pay Transparency

$25.72 - $39.86
