Brown University Health is recruiting a Surgical Technologist for Newport Hospital to join the operating room team. You will assist the surgeon, pass instruments, and help prepare and maintain sterile fields for patients of all ages in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent, current BLS, and CST/NCCT‑TC credentials. Day shift, per diem hours, and 0700‑1730 schedule.
SUMMARY: Functions as a member of the Surgical Team to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for the Surgical patient and to assist the surgeon. Provides care for patients of all ages, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric. BASIC KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of at least one of the following is required: graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program; graduate of a surgical technologist associate degree program; current certification as a CST; current NCCT‑TC (tech in surgery) certification (for applicants with past military experience only; military experience as a surgical technologist will be strongly considered); or 3 years of experience within the past 5 years as a surgical technologist. Successful completion of a Brown University Health on‑the‑job surgical technologist training program or the Community College of Rhode Island's certificate surgical technologist program. Current BLS certification is required upon hire. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Pay Range: $28.12 – $46.39
