Job summary

The City of Mill Creek is seeking a Surface Water Program Coordinator to lead the surface water utility program under the City Engineer. You will ensure MS4 permit compliance, coordinate public outreach, and manage data and inspections to protect water quality.

This role emphasizes collaboration and self-management, with opportunities for training and professional growth in western Washington’s stormwater regulations. A strong background in environmental water programs is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in environmental science, civil or environmental engineering, biology, water resources, or related field.
  • At least two years of relevant stormwater/surface water management experience.
  • Familiarity with MS4 permit requirements and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, support, and manage MS4 Permit compliance and required reports.
  • Develop and maintain city policies and training for MS4 compliance.
  • Maintain MS4 tracking system and coordinate with public education and outreach.
  • Perform field inspections and coordinate with maintenance and private facilities.
  • Prepare grant materials and manage documentation with city departments.
