Job summary

RTX is seeking a Surface Treater on the 2nd shift in East Hartford, CT. The role requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Confidential clearance on day one.

You will operate surface treatment equipment for turbine engine parts, maintain the equipment, and ensure quality standards are met. Responsibilities include setting up and running cleaning systems, masking, testing pieces, and inspecting parts with gauges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Confidential security clearance on day1.
• Compliance with FAA safety guidelines; subject to drug and alcohol testing.
• Preference for Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit candidates.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate surface treatments and cleaning equipment for turbine engine parts.
• Perform masking and media finishing operations following prescribed methods.
• Use verbal and written instructions, operational sheets to set up, operate, and adjust equipment.
• Run test pieces and reoperate rejected parts, inspecting visually and with gauges.
• Perform routine servicing, including operator checklists, to keep equipment functioning.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed to support department objectives and skill development.
• Obtain and maintain licenses, permits, and certifications required for the assigned area.
