Pratt & Whitney is hiring an Airfoil Cell Operator for the 3rd shift at our East Hartford site. The role will involve machining, finishing, and assembly to produce aerospace parts on a tight schedule.

Responsibilities include reading operation sheets, using gauges, performing grit blasting and coatings prep, and recording measurements in data systems. Requires HS diploma and machining exposure.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months machining experience or 1 year of technical training.
• Internal candidates have priority per bargaining unit rules.

• Perform bench assembly and finishing using handheld and power tools.
• Conduct grit blast, shot peening, masking and routine oven operations as needed.

• Assist with new equipment or process trials and other tasks as assigned.
• Refer issues to supervisor for resolution and training as required.

We have an immediate need for an Airfoil Cell Operator 3rd Shift (onsite)

What You Will Do:

• Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information and verbal instructions, obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production parts.
• Perform bench assembly and finishing operations as assigned, using a variety of handheld tools, power tools and other equipment to process parts during various stages of manufacturing operations.
• Perform part preparatory function including various methods of grit blast, shot peening, masking and routine oven operations to clean parts or condition surfaces for coatings.
• Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions. Record results and enter information into computer data systems as required.
• Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as operator’s check list for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly.
• Assist others who are responsible for new equipment or process tryout and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description.
• Refer problems to leader/supervisor as appropriate to resolve difficulties.
• May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual’s skills.
• May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months of machining experience or 1 year of technical training.
