Longroad Energy's Clipper Windpower facility in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Surface Preparation Technician (Including Blasting) to refurbish wind turbine components. You will operate blasting and coating preparation equipment, follow safety protocols, and work with a team to maintain high quality in a manufacturing environment.
The role requires a strong work ethic, ability to read work orders and drawings, lift up to 50 pounds, and use tools from pallet jacks to overhead cranes.
The Surface Preparation Technician (Including Blasting) is responsible for refurbishing wind turbine and renewable energy production components. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to safely and effectively work in a manufacturing environment, while upholding a strong culture of safety and adherence to all protocols and procedures. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining high quality standards while upholding a strong culture of safety and adherence to all protocols and procedures. This role is based in Cedar Rapids, IA at the Clipper Windpower manufacturing facility, a company owned by Longroad Energy.
This position requires the ability to safely perform essential job functions in a manufacturing environment, including lifting, standing for extended periods, climbing, bending, reaching, and working around industrial equipment. As a condition of employment, candidates may be required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment medical examination to determine fitness for duty and the ability to safely perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, according to the OSHA and CalOSHA respiratory safety standards set forth in 29 CFR 1910.134 and 8 CCR 5144, respectively.
