The Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Lead Engineer will play a critical role in the coordination of planning, design, implementation and maintenance of the circuit board assembly process. This position serves as a key liaison between Design, Operations, and Quality to ensure products are manufacturable, cost‑effective, and meet all quality and compliance standards. This role will be heavily involved in the support of line launch activities and participate directly in the build and commissioning process to gain comprehensive knowledge of equipment, workflows, and operational requirements.

This job works in a manufacturing setting with time spent in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. This position requires moderate general handling including pushing, pulling, and grip with hands. Additionally, hand and finger dexterity includes fine finger, gross hand, pinching (thumb‑finger), keying and twisting at the hand and wrist. Specific vision abilities are required by this position that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The position will be responsible for hiring, training and leading a group of SMT operators.
