Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation operates the Bald Mountain open-pit mine in White Pine County, Nevada. We seek a Heavy Equipment Operator to manage daily equipment operations in a live surface mine, perform inspections, and maintain safe, efficient production. Qualifications

Previous off-road heavy equipment operation experience is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Analytical skills and the ability to interact with all levels of employees and management.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

Perform pre and post operation inspections of equipment and check fuel, oil and fluids.
Operate heavy equipment safely in various weather and surface conditions.
Maintain high production while minimizing wear and damage to equipment and mine property.
Follow dispatch and supervisor directions and coordinate with other operators.
Be able to operate overhead dispatch display panel and fire suppression system.
Identify hazards and report or mitigate risks in work areas.
Know mine locations, dumps, pit rules, and safety regulations.
Work as a team player and be willing to train co-workers when needed.
Possess good written and verbal communication; adhere to Kinross policies.
