Job summary

The National Guard Surface Maintenance Mechanic position under Title 32 duties includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. You will work within the Surface Maintenance Managers Office to ensure reliability and readiness.

Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems, and providing field support. Mentoring and guiding junior mechanics is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Membership in Nebraska National Guard is required.
• Experience with heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical failures using test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty mobile equipment and vehicles.
• Disassemble and reassemble engines and major assemblies for repairs.
• Inspect vehicles and perform preventive maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-grade mechanics.
