Job summary

Philadelphia Insurance Companies is seeking a Surety Underwriter II to join our team in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, or Lone Tree, CO. Under moderate direction, you will underwrite and market assigned products, applying intermediate risk assessment and underwriting expertise to determine acceptability.

Your typical day includes preparing underwriting submissions, gathering and analyzing information, negotiating terms with producers, and maintaining accurate underwriting files while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least three years of contract surety underwriting experience.
• AFSB designation preferred.

We are looking for a Surety Underwriter II to join our team in either our Seattle, WA, Portland OR, or Lone Tree, CO offices!

Summary:

Under moderate direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing intermediate levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability.

A typical day will include the following:

• Assists with the preparation and participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business.
• Gathers and analyzing information, applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of acceptability of risk.
• May evaluate credit quality.
• Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.
• May ensure credit quality of accounts managed while maintaining and updating underwriting files.
• Participates in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, premium collections.
• Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits. Minimum authority is $750,000 (Surety).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• At leastthree years of contract surety underwriting experience preferably with a carrier.
• AFSB designation preferred.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, generate new business and be detail oriented.
