• Assist in underwriting prospects and current or new business.

• Improve processes, forms and other underwriting related items.
• Continue to develop surety underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Complete ad-hoc assignments and projects as directed.

Job description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Surety Operations; provide superior service in expanding and maintaining the Surety Department client base; support the entire team regarding file maintenance, and all other underwriting or administrative duties; provide support both the Underwriting and Sales & Revenue teams, and Support all Senior Surety Leadership, as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn the basics of the Surety Department
• Assist Underwriting Consultants and Sales & Revenue teams in gathering information and communicating with both underwriters and clients, as directed
• Assess risk through financial and WIP analysis
• Provide underwriting and risk assessment deliverables to Sales & Revenue team and clients, as directed
• Assist in the underwriting of prospects, current, and new business, as directed
• Assist in collecting premium payments for assigned book of business
• Improve processes, procedures, forms, and other underwriting related items
• Continue to develop surety underwriting knowledge and skills
• Complete ad-hoc assignments and projects as directed

Certificates/Licenses/Education

• Property & Casualty Insurance License Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
