NYC Health + Hospitals Sea View seeks a Supervisory Training and Development Associate to design, implement, and maintain training for the Post-Acute Care EMR system. You will support clinical staff across five PAC facilities, ensure staff competency, and partner with IT and EMR teams to drive improvements.

You will develop training materials, guide SOPs, and lead sessions (in person and virtual), while promoting data integrity, patient safety, and efficient workflows in a dynamic healthcare

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree required in Education, Public Health, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Management or related field.
  • Four years of progressively responsible training/development experience, with at least one year in supervision/administration.
  • Master's degree with three years of experience and one year in supervision/administration is acceptable.
  • Extensive knowledge of training/manpower development and ability to assess organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Director of Patient Care Systems for Post-Acute Care, the Supervisory Training and Development Associate provides training and technical support to clinical staff across the five (5) Post-Acute Care (PAC) facilities. The incumbent is a key team member responsible for the design, development, implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the Post-Acute Care Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Essential Functions
  • Provides training to clinical staff at all PAC facilities during the implementation period to ensure staff have sufficient knowledge and ability to navigate the Point-Click Care (PCC) EMR system.
  • Coordinates and facilitates classroom, virtual, and one-on-one EMR training sessions for:
  • New hires
  • Existing staff
  • Develops and maintains training materials, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitors training completion and staff competency; provides follow-up education and coaching as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between Clinical Operations, Information Technology (IT), and the Enterprise EMR team.
  • Participates in EMR upgrades, testing, validation, and the implementation of new workflows.
  • Supports change management initiatives to promote:
  • User adoption
  • Workflow optimization
  • EMR best practices
  • Provides ongoing education to PAC clinical staff to optimize system use and ensure data integrity, promoting:
  • Patient safety
  • Confidentiality
  • Efficiency
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clinical staff.
  • Assists in defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • In conjunction with the EMR Project Manager:
  • Identifies changes to project scope and/or schedule
  • Communicates relevant changes with stakeholders
  • Conducts weekly EMR audits and reports findings to the Director of Patient Care Systems for Post-Acute Care.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and provides recommendations to leadership.
  • Escalates clinical concerns and system issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Collaborates with the Enterprise Support Team to ensure user issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Public Health, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Management or Public Administration or a related approved discipline; and
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in planning and manpower development and training programs, medical or public health administration, or other fields related to training, development and manpower analysis, of which at least one year must have been in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity related to the organization, formulation, development and implementation of such plans and programs; or
  • A masters degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Management, Social Work, Medical Administration, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Public Administration or a related approved field, with three years of experience as described in (2) above and one year in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity; and
  • Extensive knowledge of the principals of training and manpower development programs and ability to analyze and determine the needs of the Corporation; or
  • A satisfactory combination of training, education and experience indicating the ability to perform satisfactorily.
Department Preferences
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Expertise in long-term care electronic medical record systems, preferably PointClickCare.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to adapt to new information, shifting priorities, changing conditions, and unexpected obstacles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with end users and members of the EMR team through:

  • Thorough understanding of EMR application configuration, workflow optimization, and end-user documentation practices.
