Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Canandaigua Ambulatory Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer Supervisor to plan, direct, and oversee specialty radiologic services. The role supports radiologists, maintains compliance, and ensures high image quality across modalities.

The position requires strong leadership, licensing in XR or RDMS, and at least five years of experience. Monday–Friday schedule, variable hours, and on-site work at 183 Parrish Street.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer.
• Licensure/certification in XR or Sonography.
• For Radiologic Technologist: NYS license; ARRT.
• For Sonographer: RDMS registered; degree.
• Preferred supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assures compliance with current licensure/certification on all staff.
• Maintains accountability for patient throughout and image quality in assigned supervisory areas.
• Attends Leadership meetings and cascades information to staff.
• Participates in the interview process and makes recommendations for hiring of staff.
• Performs Annual Performance appraisals and ensures mandatory in-services are completed within the set time frame.
• Technologists are trained and provided with current updated procedural changes.
• Maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital process and procedure; report malfunctions.
• Assigns studies to technologists and coordinates staff availability with other supervisors.
• Oversees imaging procedures of all patients in all areas as needed.
• Supervises employees on all shifts and ensures duties are performed.
• Maintains documentation of exams and related procedures using RIS/PACS.
• Calls preliminary reports to doctor’s offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist.
• Reviews and signs off on overtime submitted by staff.
• Excellent customer service behaviors expected; employees held accountable.
• Performs exams within scope of licensure (XR or US).
• Other duties as assigned.

STATUS: Full time

LOCATION: Canandaigua Ambulatory Center - 183 Parrish Street
Canandaigua, NY 14424

DEPARTMENT: Imaging

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; Variable hours between 7:30 am - 5 pm.

SUMMARY

Plans, directs, and supervises Specialty Radiologic Technologists. Maintains multi-modality radiologic services in accordance with established hospital, Federal, and State standards, assists radiologists with difficult procedures, and performs general technical duties when workload is heavy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assures compliance with current licensure/certification on all staff.

• Maintains accountability for patient throughout and image quality in assigned supervisory areas.

• Attends Leadership meetings and cascades information to staff.

• Responsible for participating in the interview process and making recommendations for hiring of staff as needed.

• Supervises employees on all shifts and assures that all duties are performed.

• Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS.

• Calls preliminary reports to doctor’s offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist.

• Responsible for reviewing and signing off on overtime submitted by staff.

• Excellent customer service behaviors will be expected, and employees held accountable thereof.

• Performs exams and other duties within the scope of licensure (either XR or US).

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Five years of previous work experience as a Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer

Required Licensure/Certification (Either XR or Sonography):

For Radiologic Technologist:

• 2-year college certificate or equivalent.

• ARRT Registration

• NYS License in Radiologic Technology.

For Sonographer:

• 4-year college degree or equivalent

• RDMS registered

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior supervisory experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
