Purpose: This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church.
The purpose of this position is to provide front-line supervision for employees and to coordinate the activities of the division. This position determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. They issue written and oral instructions regarding division operations and machine functions and procedures. The supervisor oversees 10-25 employees, assigns their duties and examines the work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to established policies and procedures. Ensures that the employees, equipment and machinery are used efficiently and effectively. Involved in disciplinary actions with employees and interviews candidates for employment positions and advancement into other positions within the division. The supervisor reports to their respective Group Manager.
70% Supervise, organize, and manage employees, and equipment in the production areas of the Printing Division. Supervise and maintain a good workflow in the production areas. Develop and maintain programs controlling spoilage and waste in their assigned areas. Review and approve daily time of employees.
10% Write work orders for equipment repair or work area concerns. Fill out and post daily machine and work assignment sheets. Track and find jobs on WIP. Close out all cost centers in software system.
5% Attend various production, planning, leadership meetings and others as needed.
5% Assist in ordering supplies and parts for machinery in their area.
5% Troubleshooting with scheduler's when problems or conflicts occur.
5% Follow continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
