Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Distribution Operations Center supervisor responsible for overseeing operator performance to ensure safe, reliable restoration and information services. You will supervise DOC operators, coordinate outage status inquiries, and promote safe work practices across offices and field teams.

The role requires extensive experience in DOC operations, switching procedures, and outage management, with the ability to manage budgets and provide leadership feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, Technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years of Operations experience, Distribution Line experience, Safety Processes and Procedures.
• Knowledge of core DOC systems and Microsoft Office; proficient in related outage management processes.
• Excellent computer skills and aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision of Distribution Operators in the Operations Center and coordinate inbound/outbound inquiries about outage status.
• Promote safe work practices and communicate safety initiatives to field personnel.
• Utilize Human Performance tools and manage resource scheduling for DOC Operators to meet demand.
• Interface with Substation groups for effective DOC and network support operations.
• Prepare switching orders that isolate areas without causing outages and review proposed engineering jobs and switching procedures.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Responsible for the oversight of Distribution Operations Center (DOC) operator performance to ensure restoration and information service levels are achieving safety and service excellence. Oversee switching operations to ensure safe compliance for all operational areas. Target ZERO Switching errors/incidents. Ensure the DOC constantly obtains and provides outage information to the CSC and other customer contact personnel - including executive reporting.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the direction and supervision of Distribution Operators in their Operations Center. Answers and coordinates inbound questions, from internal and external customers, regarding outage status. Promote and ensure safe work practices for all office employees and support our safety efforts via communication to our field employees. Ensure the utilization of Human Performance tools as appropriate. Oversees consistent plan for resource scheduling of DOC Operators to meet demand. Interface with Substation groups for effective operation of DOC and network support. Accountable for the proper preparation of switching orders that will isolate work areas without causing power outages, referring to drawings of power systems. Accountable for the review of proposed engineering jobs and planned switching procedures, in accordance with AOR requests. Ensure adherence to Entergy's Safety Policy by monitoring and enforcing safe work practices and establishing procedures to manage loss control risk. Effectively manage budget by monitoring, analyzing, and making sound financial decisions. Direct the work of others and provide ongoing performance feedback.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, Technical degree, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position 10 years of Operations experience, Distribution Line experience, Safety Processes and Procedures.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Knowledge of core DOC systems -- SCADA, ESCA, STARS Outage, AIS Outage, AM/FM, AORS. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, AM/FM applications and Outage Management process. Excellent computer skills and aptitude.
