Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Mechanical Maintenance Department. You will oversee maintenance activities, schedule shutdowns, manage parts, and ensure ISO quality responsibilities are met.

You will coordinate with Electrical, Operating, and Plant Engineering departments, mentor staff, and help prepare budgets and cost estimates while maintaining up-to-date records on all machinery and facilities.

Qualifications

• Education: High School; College degree preferred in engineering-related subjects.
• Three (3) years of mechanical supervision experience.
• Ability to understand all mechanical equipment & systems.
• Ability to motivate subordinates & communicate effectively, both written & oral.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Mechanical Maintenance Departments.
• Maintain compliance with ISO Quality System responsibilities.
• Schedule & coordinate Mechanical Maintenance shutdowns, repairs & construction work in cooperation with the Electrical Department, Operating Departments & Plant Engineering Department.
• Issue requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to Mechanical Maintenance & construction work in cooperation with the Electrical Department, Operating Departments & Plant Engineering Department.
• Direct the administration of Company policy & programs pertaining to performance, training, safety & morale of all personnel under supervision.
• Ensure enforcement of company rules & regulations & maintenance discipline, including Union-Management agreements.
• Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of current & long-range personnel & maintenance problems & plans.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for work orders, capital jobs & annual departmental operating & capital budgets.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date maintenance records & information on all machinery, equipment & buildings.
• Coordinate & cooperate with outside contractors & equipment suppliers.
