Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Maintenance Manager to plan and supervise the Electrical & Instrumentation departments across the mill. You will be responsible for coordinating shutdowns, ensuring ISO quality compliance, and aligning maintenance activities with plant operations.

The role requires strong communication skills, leadership ability, and a BS in Engineering with several years of engineering experience, including time in the pulp & paper industry.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering required.
  • 5 years in Engineering preferred, with 2 years in the Pulp & Paper Industry.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Electrical & Instrumentation Departments.
  • Maintains compliance with ISO Quality System responsibilities.
  • Schedule & coordinate Electrical & Instrument Maintenance shutdowns, repairs & construction work in cooperation with the Mechanical Maintenance area.
  • Issue requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to Electrical & Instrument Maintenance work.
  • Direct the administration of company policy & programs pertaining to performance, training, safety & morale of personnel.
  • Cooperate in establishing & continuance of a safety program to educate foremen & hourly workers in safe work methods & hazards.
  • Keep the Maintenance Reliability Manager informed of current & long-range personnel & maintenance problems & plans.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates for work orders & capital jobs & in preparation of the annual departmental operating & capital budgets.
  • Maintain accurate & up-to-date maintenance records & information on all machinery, equipment & buildings.
  • Coordinate activities with outside contractors working in his area of responsibility.

General Summary

Prerequisites

Education: BS Degree in Engineering

Work Experience: Five (5) years in Engineering Preferred, with two (2) of those years in the Pulp & Paper Industry.

Skills: Possess written & verbal communication skills & engineering knowledge.

Essential Functions
  • 1. Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Electrical & Instrumentation Departments.
