Job summary

Colonial Group in Alabama is seeking a Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineer to support maintenance and operations in an industrial manufacturing setting. You will develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans, analyze equipment reliability, and supervise mill staff and contractors to keep uptime on target.

BS degree in mechanical/metallurgical engineering with 2-3 years of experience is required, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering with 2-3 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; pulp and paper experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow up skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in setting priorities and delegating, analytical problem solving, and facilitating in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be able to function and contribute within a team environment.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.

Understand equipment operation and function as required to determine preventive and predictive maintenance needs. Develop preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures as required to insure equipment availability.
