Position: Supply Chain Consulting Intern

About the Role

Company: The Atlas Network

Position: Supply Chain Consulting Intern

Experience: Internship / Entry-Level

The Atlas Network is looking for a motivated Supply Chain Consulting Intern to support our client discovery and opportunity development process. This role will work directly with the Atlas team to analyze prospective and existing clients' supply chains, understand how they currently source and manufacture their products, and then ultimately work to build out The Atlas Network's consulting arm with these opportunities in mind. The goal being to help identify qualified, sellable consulting services for Atlas. This is a hands-on, client-facing internship ideal for someone interested in supply chain, consulting, global business, manufacturing, or business development.

  • Participate in discovery calls with prospective and existing clients.
  • Determine the best avenues to pursue larger scale consulting business deals
  • Research clients before meetings to understand their products, industry, suppliers, manufacturing footprint, and potential supply chain needs.
  • Help map how clients currently source, manufacture, package, inspect, and ship their products.
  • Ask questions and gather information around:
  • Current suppliers and manufacturing locations
  • Products and components being purchased
  • Annual purchasing volumes
  • Current or target costs
  • MOQs
  • Lead times
  • Quality issues
  • Freight and logistics
  • Packaging
  • Supplier performance
  • New product development
  • Identify potential supply chain breakdowns, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
  • Most importantly, help turn those findings into specific opportunities that Atlas can quote and sell.
  • Look beyond the client's immediate request to identify additional products, components, packaging, sourcing, QC, or logistics opportunities.
  • Gather the information needed to move qualified opportunities into the RFQ process.
  • Prepare clear post-meeting summaries outlining identified opportunities and required next steps.
  • Work with Atlas's sales, account management, sourcing, and international teams to determine whether opportunities are viable.
  • Track identified opportunities from discovery through RFQ, sampling, and potential purchase order.
  • Maintain organized records of client opportunities and supporting information.
What We're Looking For
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student studying Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, International Business, Logistics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in global supply chains, manufacturing, sourcing, and international business.
  • Analytical and naturally curious - someone who wants to understand why something is expensive, delayed, inefficient, or difficult.
  • Commercial mindset and interest in identifying business opportunities.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable participating in client-facing conversations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple client analyses and opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous internship, coursework, or project experience in supply chain, consulting, sourcing, sales, or manufacturing is a plus but not required.
What You'll Learn

This internship provides direct exposure to:

  • Global sourcing and manufacturing
  • Supply chain consulting
  • Client discovery and needs analysis
  • International supplier relationships
  • RFQ and quoting processes
  • Manufacturing and packaging
  • Quality control
  • Freight and logistics
  • Business development
  • Opportunity qualification
  • Working with international teams

Rather than working on hypothetical case studies, the intern will work alongside the Atlas team on real companies, real products, real supply chain challenges, and real business opportunities.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means helping Atlas turn client conversations and research into qualified opportunities that can move into the consulting and sales process.

The intern should consistently be asking:

How do we find consulting based opportunities?

What else can Atlas quote?

Where is the client experiencing a problem? Where are their bottlenecks?

What are they currently buying? How often?

Could Atlas source or manufacture it better?

Do we have enough information to turn this into an RFQ?

Ultimately, the role is about learning how to turn supply chain analysis into actionable and sellable opportunities for Atlas.
