Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field service professional to maintain and grow a route servicing fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, e-lights, and gas systems. You will inspect, service, repair, and install multiple suppression product lines on-site according to safety requirements and manufacturer specifications.

The role requires 1+ year of kitchen hood experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. Expect travel as needed with a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service fire suppression product lines including emergency lights, fire extinguishers, pre-engineered and industrial systems per safety requirements and manufacturer specs.
• Identify deficiencies and propose fixes.
• Quote, sell, and repair on-site.
• Upsell existing customers to new products to meet current fire code compliance.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on compliance criteria.
• Meet or exceed quotas set by supervisor.
• Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
• Upsell and cross-sell to meet current fire code compliance.

What you will do

Candidate will maintain and grow a route servicing existing fire extinguisher, kitchen hood, e‑light and pre‑engineered and possibly engineered gas system customers. Inspect, service, repair and install two or more suppression product lines—including emergency lights, fire extinguishers, pre‑engineered and industrial systems—according to safety requirements and manufacturer’s specifications.

• Make recommendations based on manufacturer’s specification and state/local codes.
• Identify deficiencies.
• Quote, sell, and repair on‑site.
• Up‑sell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria.
• Meet or exceed quotas set forth by the direct supervisor.
• Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
• Up‑sell and cross‑sell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations.

What we look for

Required

Hiring hourly range

$18–25 per hour plus commission (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
