Job description

Supportive Services Driver FLSA: Non Exempt
The Hospitality Hub
Nashville, TN
About the Role:

The Supportive Services Driver plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in helping the Hospitality Hub meet its mission of helping people move from homelessness to housing. This position supports the case counseling teams by handling essential errands, deliveries, and in-the-moment support needs. From passing out meals or hygiene supplies to guests, to running errands for staff, to checking in with team members needing on-site help, this role helps keep operations running smoothly while ensuring guests continue to receive compassionate, consistent care.

The person in this role will regularly interact with guests and must bring empathy, reliability, and a deep sense of mission to the work. You’ll often be the helping hand that makes a guest feel seen and supported — whether that’s through delivering supplies, helping staff manage an unexpected need, or preparing a clean, welcoming space for a new guest.

Team Culture and Expectations:

The Hub is a human first social agency meaning our goal is to decrease suffering for the person in front of us while simultaneously building systemic solutions. While the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, we expect all staff to be flexible and available to respond to emergencies and fulfill programmatic responsibilities which may require working holidays, weekends, evenings, or nights. Everyone in the organization is expected to identify and solve problems. The Hub hires passionate, empathetic individuals.

Additionally, the Hospitality Hub serves people who have experienced discrimination, violence, and other traumatic events. Many Hub clients and guests are healing from trauma related to their marginalization. It is critically important that all members of the Hub team maintain a hospitable and welcoming environment by remaining calm and kind when clients are feeling frustrated.

Primary Location: The current position is located at 95 Wallace Road, Nashville, TN 37211

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday-Saturday

Benefits: A generous paid time off policy, paid parental leave, professional development and medical insurance are offered to all regular full-time employees. Regular training is provided to all employees.

Pay: The salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's demonstrated experience, expertise, and skill. The salary range for this role starts at $21.50/hr. Hourly team members are

compensated with pre-approved overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 hours a week.

Reports to: Bailey Amos, the Hospitality Hub Nashville Program Director

While the position's primary responsibilities are outlined below, this list is not exhaustive.

Responsibilities
Guest Support & Services
  • Pass out meals, hygiene kits, supplies, and other essential goods for Hub programs and guests, and cover meal shifts as needed.
  • Build rapport with each individual experiencing homelessness.
  • Schedule appointments for and with clients, including EBT, insurance, and Social Security.
  • Remind clients of scheduled appointments about 30 minutes before transport so they have time to prepare or cancel.
  • Sit with clients on iPads as needed, monitor phone usage, and make sure tablets are charged and computers are ready for guest use.
  • Recognize client birthdays: on scheduled days, start a card, gather staff signatures, set it out at meal times, and oversee the process.
Errands, Transportation & Staff Support
  • Complete errands, including client transports and appointment rides, medication pickups, deliveries, store runs, and in-the-moment support needs.
  • Respond to requests from case counselors and other Hub staff for on-the-ground support, including duties raised in support meetings such as meal shifts, clothing closet runs, and unplanned needs. Take on these requests flexibly, and bring workload concerns to the Program Director.
  • Meet staff at program sites (including the Rodeway Inn, shelter, or community housing locations) to assist with logistics or guest needs.

  • Manage the room attendant process, including payment options, walkthroughs, and forms, and bring concerns or needs to the Program Director.
  • Keep all common spaces tidy and welcoming, including offices, Room 120, and the community room.
  • Assist with the laundry process: track drop-off and pickup on the spreadsheet, post dates on the chalkboard, and return bags to rooms when they have gone unclaimed for 24 hours or more.
  • Sort and organize clothing closet donations so the closet is always ready for use, and report pressing needs, low-quantity items, and client requests.
Inventory & Supplies
  • Manage inventory and keep supplies stocked at all times by scheduling Sam’s Club runs, ordering needed items, and adding items to the Amazon wish list as stock runs low.
Data, Tracking & Administration
  • Track trips and tasks completed during each shift, reporting updates and issues promptly.
  • Enter transport logs weekly (Lyft Business, Uber, bus passes, and van logs), coordinating with other attendants on how logging is divided.
  • Log services in HMIS, including medications, clothing closet runs, and housing applications.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of case manager files, scheduled on the calendar in advance so staff know when to expect them.
